Fighting Food Insecurity With Purpose

Women-Led Organization
"No family in Houston should have to choose between a meal and tomorrow. Clay's Corner exists to make sure they never have to."

Clay's Corner was founded on the conviction that access to food is a fundamental human right. We operate as both a food pantry and a community resource hub — connecting Houston's most vulnerable families with nutritious food, essential services, and the dignity they deserve. Named in honor of a deeply personal inspiration, everything we do is rooted in love and a commitment to lasting change.

Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose

Clay's Corner is a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity and connecting families with the resources they need to thrive. Proudly women-led, our organization was founded by and is built upon the vision, expertise, and passion of women deeply rooted in the Houston community — united by the belief that every family deserves access to nourishment, stability, and support.

Why We Do This Work

Clay's Corner grew out of a personal calling to serve — and a recognition that food insecurity in Houston is not an abstract issue, but a daily reality for thousands of families. Our founder, Ceondra Washington, channeled her expertise in leadership and operations into building an organization that is both strategic in its approach and deeply human in its values.

What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a structured, community-driven nonprofit with real impact — measured in pounds of food collected, families served, and partnerships built across Houston. We are proud to carry the name Clay's Corner as a quiet, personal reminder of why this work matters. It is a name that represents love, purpose, and the belief that the people we serve are worth every effort.

Today, Clay's Corner stands as a trusted resource hub in the Houston community — and we are only just getting started.

The People Behind the Mission

Clay's Corner is proudly women-led — founded by and built upon the vision, grit, and expertise of women who are deeply rooted in Houston. Our team brings together backgrounds in business, psychology, engineering, public safety, communications, and entrepreneurship — united by a shared commitment to Houston's most vulnerable communities.

Ceondra Washington
Founder & President
Ceondra Washington is the visionary founder and president of Clay's Corner. With a background in psychology and business administration with a concentration in Project Management, she brings a rare combination of human-centered insight and operational precision to everything she builds. But her story of leadership and advocacy began long before Clay's Corner ever had a name.

During her years living in New Orleans as a college student, Ceondra immersed herself in community work, student leadership, and advocacy — developing a deep understanding of what people truly need and what systems often fail to provide. Those years were not just formative, they were foundational. She returned to Houston carrying that experience and a clear sense of purpose.

With plans to pursue a Master of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resources, she continues to invest in the expertise that drives meaningful organizations forward. And through her work building Clay's Corner from the ground up, Ceondra found herself increasingly drawn to the intersection of policy, equity, and justice — now on a deliberate path toward law school, where she plans to carry the fight for Houston's most vulnerable communities further than ever. For Ceondra, Clay's Corner is proof that purpose-driven leadership changes lives — and the foundation of the advocate she has always been becoming.

Jereldine Korfeh
Public Relations Manager
Jereldine Korfeh is the voice and brand steward of Clay's Corner — and few people are better positioned to tell Houston's story than someone who is woven into its very foundation. A continuing student who has pursued her education across multiple institutions including Sam Houston State University, Jereldine brings an ever-expanding academic depth to her communications work and a hunger for growth that never stops.

Her roots in Houston run generational. Her family leads a thriving church in the community — instilling in her from an early age the values of service, fellowship, and showing up for people with consistency and grace. Growing up in that environment gave Jereldine something that cannot be taught in a classroom: an instinctive understanding of what community truly means and what it takes to sustain it. That spiritual foundation does not sit in the background of her work — it shapes every word she puts into the world on behalf of Clay's Corner.

Beyond communications, Jereldine is deeply passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition — believing that a nourished body and a grounded spirit are inseparable from a thriving life. She brings that whole-person philosophy to Clay's Corner's messaging, ensuring that what we communicate reflects not just what we do, but why it matters. At Clay's Corner, she does not just manage public relations. She carries the heart of the mission into every conversation, every post, and every story we tell.

Erica Guery
Director of Outreach
Erica Guery brings a rare and powerful perspective to Clay's Corner — one forged on both sides of institutions that most people only ever see from one angle. A Houston native and Engineering Technology scholar, Erica spent years working within government and public safety systems, gaining an intimate, ground-level understanding of how those structures operate, where they fall short, and most importantly, who they were built to serve.

That experience gave her something invaluable: the ability to see both the weight of law and policy and the full humanity of the people those systems touch. She has navigated bureaucracy and stood alongside the communities it impacts. She knows what systemic vulnerability looks like up close — not from a report or a textbook, but from lived proximity. And she knows what dignity looks like too, even in the places it is hardest to find. That dual perspective does not just inform her work at Clay's Corner — it drives it.

As Director of Outreach, Erica designs strategies the way an engineer designs structures: precise, purposeful, and built to hold the weight of real people's lives. She bridges the gap between systems and the streets because she has always known both. At Clay's Corner, she ensures that no family is out of reach — and that the communities we serve are met not just with resources, but with the respect and understanding they deserve.
