Our Mission
Fighting Food Insecurity With Purpose
"No family in Houston should have to choose between a meal and tomorrow. Clay's Corner exists to make sure they never have to."
Clay's Corner was founded on the conviction that access to food is a fundamental human right. We operate as both a food pantry and a community resource hub — connecting Houston's most vulnerable families with nutritious food, essential services, and the dignity they deserve. Named in honor of a deeply personal inspiration, everything we do is rooted in love and a commitment to lasting change.
About Us
Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose
Clay's Corner is a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity and connecting families with the resources they need to thrive. Founded by a leader with a deep background in operations and community advocacy, our organization is built on the belief that every family deserves access to nourishment, stability, and support.
Our Story
Why We Do This Work
Clay's Corner grew out of a personal calling to serve — and a recognition that food insecurity in Houston is not an abstract issue, but a daily reality for thousands of families. Our founder, Ceondra Washington, channeled her expertise in leadership and operations into building an organization that is both strategic in its approach and deeply human in its values.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a structured, community-driven nonprofit with real impact — measured in pounds of food collected, families served, and partnerships built across Houston. We are proud to carry the name Clay's Corner as a quiet, personal reminder of why this work matters. It is a name that represents love, purpose, and the belief that the people we serve are worth every effort.
Today, Clay's Corner stands as a trusted resource hub in the Houston community — and we are only just getting started.
Our Leadership
The People Behind the Mission

Our core program provides free, nutritious food to Houston families in need. We distribute fresh produce, proteins, grains, and pantry staples on a regular schedule — ensuring consistent access to quality food without barriers.
🤝Community Resource Hub
Beyond food, we connect families with critical resources including housing assistance, employment services, healthcare referrals, utility support, and educational programs — all under one roof.
📦Holiday & Emergency Boxes
During holidays and times of crisis, Clay's Corner assembles and distributes curated food boxes to ensure families never face a special occasion without a meal. Emergency boxes are also available year-round for families in acute need.
🌱Community Wellness Days
Our wellness events bring together health screenings, mental health resources, nutrition education, and community connection — addressing the whole person, not just the immediate need.
🤲Volunteer Program
Our volunteers are the backbone of Clay's Corner. We provide structured, meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, and corporate partners — making it easy to give back to Houston.
